Power Transformers

Purpose-Built Transformers for Behind-the-Meter Power Infrastructure.

Parasol transformers are engineered for the voltage conversion, isolation, and power quality demands of AI data centers, industrial facilities, and distributed generation assets — integrated with Parasol generation, storage, and EMS platforms.

Overview

Transformer Solutions for High-Demand Power Infrastructure

Every Parasol power system requires precise voltage transformation between generation assets, storage systems, and load infrastructure. Parasol transformers are specified, sourced, and integrated as part of the complete Parasol power platform — ensuring compatibility with battery storage DC/AC interfaces, natural gas generator output, solar inverters, and AIDC load requirements. Available in dry-type and liquid-filled configurations from distribution scale through transmission voltage.

Configurations

Transformer Configurations

500 kVA – 10 MVA

Dry-Type Distribution Transformers

Air-cooled dry-type transformers for indoor and outdoor distribution applications. Suitable for AIDC facility step-down, generator output transformation, and battery storage AC interface. No fire risk from dielectric fluid — preferred for enclosed data center and industrial environments.

  • 480V – 15kV primary/secondary configurations
  • Class H insulation, 150°C rise
  • NEMA enclosures: 1, 3R, 4X available
  • UL listed, ANSI/IEEE C57.12 compliant
1 MVA – 100 MVA

Liquid-Filled Power Transformers

Oil-immersed power transformers for high-capacity generation step-up, substation interconnection, and utility-scale behind-the-meter infrastructure. Designed for continuous duty at rated capacity with integrated thermal monitoring and protection.

  • 4kV – 138kV voltage class
  • ONAN/ONAF/OFAF cooling configurations
  • Tap changer: de-energized or load tap changer (LTC)
  • ANSI/IEEE C57.12, IEC 60076 compliant
75 kVA – 5 MVA

Pad-Mounted Transformers

Tamper-resistant pad-mounted transformers for outdoor distribution, remote power sites, and construction power applications. Rapid deployment with loop-feed capability for network redundancy.

  • 15kV and 25kV primary class
  • Single and three-phase configurations
  • Loop-feed and radial feed options
  • Stainless steel or galvanized enclosures
5 MVA – 100 MVA

Generator Step-Up Transformers (GSU)

Unit transformers designed for direct connection to Parasol natural gas turbines and reciprocating generator sets. Optimized for generator terminal voltage step-up to transmission or sub-transmission voltage for grid interconnect or behind-the-meter distribution.

  • Generator terminal voltage: 4.16kV – 13.8kV
  • HV winding: 34.5kV – 138kV
  • Delta-wye or wye-wye winding configurations
  • Integrated surge arresters and bushings
Features

Platform Integration Features

EMS Monitoring & Protection

Parasol EMS integrates transformer thermal sensors, tap changer position, oil level, and fault indicators — providing real-time visibility and automated protection coordination across the full power system.

Harmonic Mitigation

AIDC and industrial loads generate significant harmonic distortion. Parasol transformers are specified with K-factor ratings and delta-wye configurations that attenuate harmonic currents and protect downstream equipment.

Seismic & Environmental Ratings

Available with seismic qualification (IEEE 693), NEMA 3R/4X enclosures, and tropical insulation systems for deployment in challenging environments — remote sites, coastal locations, and high-humidity industrial facilities.

Rapid Delivery Program

Parasol maintains transformer inventory and supplier relationships that support accelerated delivery timelines for standard configurations — critical for AIDC projects with compressed construction schedules.

Factory Acceptance Testing

All Parasol transformers undergo factory acceptance testing (FAT) including ratio, impedance, no-load loss, load loss, and insulation resistance testing — with test reports provided for commissioning documentation.

Lifecycle Support

Parasol provides transformer commissioning, periodic testing, oil sampling analysis, and end-of-life replacement planning as part of the full Parasol O&M program.

Applications

Applications

AI Data Center Power Infrastructure

Step-down transformers for AIDC facility distribution, isolation transformers for sensitive compute loads, and GSU transformers for on-site generation interconnect.

Natural Gas Generator Integration

Generator step-up transformers matched to Parasol turbine and reciprocating generator terminal voltages — factory-tested as a matched set for simplified commissioning.

Battery Storage AC Interface

Isolation and step-up transformers for battery storage PCS (power conversion system) AC output — providing voltage matching, isolation, and harmonic filtering between BESS and facility distribution.

Solar Farm & Hybrid PPA Projects

Inverter pad-mount and collector substation transformers for utility-scale solar and hybrid PPA projects being converted to AIDC behind-the-meter infrastructure.

Industrial & Remote Power

Pad-mounted and dry-type transformers for industrial facility distribution, remote mining and resource extraction sites, and construction power applications.

Microgrid & Islanded Systems

Isolation transformers and distribution transformers for microgrid architectures — providing voltage regulation, fault isolation, and grid-forming support in islanded operation.
